That's right, I said it. Many guitarists are taught from the moment they pick up the guitar that they need to build up an arsenal of licks for "improvisational soloing."
You may as well build a nice, pretty, little box around your playing because ALL (I repeat, ALL) of your solos will sound the same! 20 years down the road, "great" and "legendary" guitarists are stuck in a rut of no creativity. When called upon to play a solo, the same boxed, limited, and repetitive-sounding licks will be emitted from their instrument. They may be great at what they're doing, but they can do nothing else!
I present to you "Guitar Catalyst." Our school is dedicated to destroying the box that has encompassed virtually all guitar music on the market today. Do not expect to learn a bunch of riffs or licks to pull out "systematically" during a solo. If that is all there is to music, robots will be taking over in 5 years. Prepare yourself to actually understand music for the first time.
Our vision is simple: We want you to be able to play from the heart. The guitar is not an instrument you're holding, it's an extension of your body used to express and articulate the feelings of the soul. There will be no division between your heart and your fingers; the box of containment will be obliterated, and you will surprise yourself every time you pick up the instrument.
This is a reality. This is music.
This is Guitar Catalyst.
